Art in the Age is Serving Up Boozy Wooder Ice Cocktails on Limited Days!

A summer in Philadelphia is not complete without water ice—and Art in the Age is putting their boozy twist on a series of speciality cocktails pairing house-made water ice with craft-made spirits.

Art in the Age, a one-of-a-kind tasting room, home bar supply and bottle shop in Old City, is crafting red, white and blue Boozy Wooder Ice cocktails just in time for Independence Day! The talented bar staff created these cocktails with refreshing hints of hibiscus, pineapple and elderflower.

Wooder Ice is available on the following dates this summer season:

         – July 1^st 

         – August 11-12^th

         – September 1^st – 2^nd

For those feeling adventurous enough to make their own for a picnic or BBQ, they can create the cocktails with craft spirits available in the shop, including New Liberty Distillery’s Kinsey Rye, Dreadnought White Rum and Art in the Age’s Black Trumpet Blueberry Cordial. See below for recipes:

Red: Strawberry Hibiscus Boulevardier ($12) 

2oz Kinsey Rye

1 oz Campari

1 oz strawberry / hibiscus simple syrup

1 oz Sweet vermouth

1 oz water

Place half a strawberry on the side of the glass to garnish

White: Piña Colada ($10) 

1 oz Dreadnought White Rum

½ oz Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum

2 oz Pineapple juice

2 oz Coconut milk

½ oz Lime juice

½ oz Half and half

Pinch of sea salt

Zest nutmeg over the top to garnish

Blue: Berry Patch Lemon Drop ($14) 

2 oz Butterfly pea flower infused Powderhorn Vodka

1 oz Black trumpet blueberry cordial

3 oz Blackberry elderflower lemonade: (Top muddled blackberries with ½ oz lemon juice, 1 oz Elderflower tonic, 1 ½ oz water. Let infuse & Strain)
