The Feminist Flea Market Will Be a Cherry Street Pier for a Special Night Time Edition With Over 40 Vendors!

After pivoting to hosting virtual markets during the first year and a half of the pandemic, the Feminist Flea Market & Craft Fair is back in person for their first ever outdoor markets! Join them at their nighttime market at Cherry Street Pier on Friday, August 27th from 6-10PM and then catch the last bit of summer sun at their daytime market at Love City Brewing on Saturday, September 25th, 12-7PM. ⁣⁣There will be over 40 vendors at each market selling everything you want and didn’t know you needed: handmade clothing and jewelry, live plants, candles, vintage accessories, homemade beauty products and much more. 

House Cat carefully curates the market to highlight the beautifully diverse identities and works of Philadelphia’s artists and businesses. As always, the market will be featuring artists who are marginalized for their gender, including women, trans, non-binary and gender non-conforming folks, and makers who are Black, Indigineous and People of Color (BIPOC) are prioritized. 

To shop at each market, there’s a $5 “entry fee”; proceeds from the Cherry Street Pier market on August 27th benefit Homies Helping Homies, a mutual aid initiative based in the Point Breeze section of South Philadelphia that’s focused on the distribution of free household essentials. Proceeds from the Love City market on September 25th will go to Coalition for Black Trans Economic Liberation (CBTEL), which was created for and by Black, transgender Philadelphians to redistribute wealth, in its many forms, from non-Black people everywhere to Black LGBTQ+ people in Philadelphia. The community raised over $13,000 for local mutual aid orgs during the last two virtual markets and Feminist Flea is hoping to hit or exceed that number this time! 

Feminist Flea Market & Craft Fair’s nighttime market at the Cherry Street Pier (121 N Christopher Columbus Blvd, 19106) is on Friday, August 27th from 6-10PM and their daytime market at Love City Brewing (1023 Hamilton St, 19123) is on Saturday, September 25th, 12-7PM. $5 entry per market, pay when you get there. Attendees are required to wear masks at Cherry Street Pier and encouraged to wear masks outside at Love City Brewing, particularly if not vaccinated.
