Fond Restaurant is Hosting a Street Party to Celebrate 10 Years in Business!
Fond, the acclaimed contemporary American restaurant on Passyunk Square, is excited to announce the celebration of its 10-year-anniversary on Monday, August 26, from 7-9 pm. Friends, neighbors and guests are invited to stop by the restaurant (1537 S 11th St.) – across the street at the iconic Singing Fountain – and toast to 10 years of excellence during a celebratory outdoor street party with a Champagne wall, oyster station, upbeat music and more.
The restaurant originally opened its doors as BYOB in 2009, offering 28 seats to start. After moving to its current location along Philadelphia’s popular East Passyunk Avenue in 2012, Chef-owners Lee Styer and Jessie Prawlucki grew the restaurant to 50 seats and added a stellar bar program, full wine list and 16 outdoor seats. The globally-inspired menu has been consistent over the years but saw exciting additions due to a bigger kitchen and more room at 1537 South 11th Street. Styer and Prawlucki’s style is contemporary American and evolved over the time.
“We’re thrilled to celebrate 10 years of Fond with all our friends, customers, and neighbors,” said Lee Styer, Executive Chef and Owner at Fond. “We decided to host a fun event to give back to all supporters and friends and what is more fun than a late-summer street party with Champagne, oysters and music?”
At Fond, guests can experience seasonal menus and original comfort food but also try evolved cuisine and be adventurous. The restaurant is known for its Prime Rib Sundays, boasting prime rib from 100 percent Hereford Cattle, seasonal vegetables, roasted potatoes, au jus and horseradish sauce. Guests are also invited to enjoy half dozen oysters and a glass of rosé for $10 every Tuesday at the bar and stop by for happy hour specials Tuesday through Friday from 5:30 pm-7pm and Sundays from 5-6:30 pm.
