New Loveluck Restaurant and Bar Will be Located in the Old Love Park Welcome Center!
Although the old Love Park with the fountain has been an iconic backdrop forever, it was time for change. The new renovated Love Park is definitely more inviting and seems a lot more spacious. However, the fate of one more iconic monument in the park has remained a mystery until now. The old flying saucer looking welcome center that sat on near the corner of 16th and JFK will now be home to the new Loveluck Restaurant & Bar.
Marcie Turney and Val Safran of the Safran Turney Hospitality group will bring new life to this historic Philly structure. The dynamic duo are responsible for eateries such as Jamonera, Lolita, Little Nonna’s and Bud & Marilyns’s.
The space had sat unused since 2015 due to the new renovations. Now the center that once welcomed tourists will now welcome hungry patrons. Loveluck will feature seating for 50-55 guests inside and will offer outdoor seating for 135 guests. Loveluck is slated for a 2019 opening.
Most of the details and plans have been hush hush. However, a press conference has been scheduled for March 13th at 9 a,m. The owners plan to release more details as well as present a building reveal. Stay tuned for more updates!
