Local Art Gallery is Having an Open Call for All Photographers
Great photos taken by amateurs should not be regulated to Instagram. So if you have a knack for taking great pics maybe you should consider submitting to The Da Vinci Art Alliance’s open call.
Located at 704 Catherine St., The Da Vinci Art Alliance is looking for awesome photos taken by area photo enthusiasts for their upcoming Open Lens Exhibit being held February 7th-28th. Photos that make the exhibit will be judged by award winning photographer, designer, and educator Joel Katz and the best photos will be awarded cash prizes. Although the Open Lens Exhibit runs two weeks, winners will be announced February 11th during the opening receptions and award presentation that will be open to the public.
The Da Vinci Art Alliance was founded in 1931 and enjoys a distinguished history in Philadelphia. It was formed to serve the needs of artists and artisans and to promote the edification and appreciation of the arts. Our well-located building across from Fleisher was purchased in 1959 to provide studio, and gallery spaces for its members and outreach for the community. Da Vinci maintains a small collection of works by noted founders. The Da Vinci Art Alliance supports community based arts programs, and cultural and educational exchanges through monthly exhibitions, lectures and events.
So if you think you have what it takes to take home top honors at Open Lens, then be sure to submit your work either February 1st from 1-4 pm or February 2nd 6-8 pm. Submission fees are $10 for Da Vinci members and $15 for non-members. For full rules and more info on submitting work visit their submission page.
Whether you’re looking to submit work or just love photographer, Open Lens is definitely a can’t miss event for all photography lovers. So log-off the Gram and check out awesome photos at a real life exhibit. FYI Double tapping actual pics is discouraged.
