Cake Boss is Coming to Rittenhouse Square
You no longer have to hit the turnpike and endure theme park length lines to try the famed Carlo’s Bakery sweets. Owner Buddy Valastro has just announced that the bakery/reality show will be branching out to Philly, Rittenhouse Square to be exact.
The new Carlo’s Bakery will be located at 2101 Walnut St. where Hollywood Tans used to be. Since his father bought the 100 year old Carlo’s Bakery back in the 60’s, Buddy has been very busy branding himself with the Cake Boss insignia as well as expanding the empire. In fact the new Philly location will actually be the 10th Carlo’s Bakery with the next closest being in Marlton, NJ. Although no definite date is set for the Rittenhouse opening, Buddy has publicly stated that he hopes for a grand opening sometime this March.
Aside from the upcoming Philly location, Buddy is also working on opening a Carlo’s Bakery in the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut as well as partnering up with Norweigan Cruise to offer up delicious pastries on all of their ships.
If you’ve been to the original Carlo’s Bakery you may have been overwhelmed with the long menu list. However, don’t expect to be able to purchase all of the same items as Buddy is looking to cut down the size of the menu for “quality control” reasons. We will keep you updated with a definitely date as soon as one becomes available.
