Spruce Street Harbor Park and RiverRink Summerfest Return With New Activities Including Swan Boats and Glow Night Rides
The Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (DRWC) has announced the return of two of Philly’s most popular seasonal destinations—Spruce Street Harbor Park and Independence Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest—both reopening on Friday, May 22, just in time for Memorial Day Weekend.
This year, the waterfront experience expands beyond land, introducing a slate of new on-the-water attractions designed to bring visitors closer to the Delaware River than ever before.
For 2026, DRWC is adding interactive water-based activities that redefine how visitors experience the waterfront:
- Chiliboats Adventures – pedal-powered boats that let guests ride across the river
- All-New Swan Boats + Glow Night Rides – larger boats with canopy seating, plus after-dark illuminated rides
- Floating Double-Decker Barge – a multi-level barge offering drinks, seating, and skyline views from the water
A staple of Philadelphia summers, Spruce Street Harbor Park returns for its 13th season as a free, open-to-the-public destination blending relaxation with entertainment.
Fan-favorite features include:
- Colorful hammocks and lounge seating
- Floating barges with food, drinks, and social spaces
- Seasonal cocktails and local food vendors
- A packed weekly lineup including:
- Live and Local Thursdays
- Jazz Nights on Fridays
- Summer Sounds Concert Series on Saturdays
- Family Fundays on Sundays
Monthly events like Cosmic Rhythms and Latin Night will also return, adding to the park’s lively, community-driven atmosphere.
Just steps away, RiverRink Summerfest transforms the waterfront into a family-friendly festival zone featuring:
- Roller skating (free for Independence Blue Cross cardholders)
- Boardwalk games and arcade attractions
- 18-hole mini golf
- Classic carnival eats and seasonal treats
Beyond the two main attractions, visitors can expect expanded programming across the waterfront, including:
- Surrey Cycle Rentals along the Delaware River Trail
- “Fishing” Fridays at Cherry Street Pier
- Hands-on fishing experiences at Pier 68
- Cruises and charters from partners like Sea Philly and Spirit Philadelphia
- The return of the RiverLink Ferry
Additionally, American Cruise Lines will begin docking along the waterfront, further positioning the area as a major destination for visitors.
