10 Things That Make Philly Women Awesome

Women’s History Month is underway and what better way to celebrate than to spotlight the women that make this city a great place to be.  It’s safe to say Philly women are one-of-a-kind and we here at Wooder Ice appreciate that so we put together a list of  10 things that make Philly Women Awesome!

They Know a Good Meal When They See One

With the abundance of fantastic restaurants here in the city you can’t just get any ol’ meal past Philly Women.  From bar food to steaks and everything in-between, if you ask a Philly woman where’s a good place to eat be prepared for a laundry list of answers.

They’re Hip to the Music Scene

Concert venues, record shops and a thriving music scene here keeps Philly women in tuned to what’s happening in the music scene.  Whether it’s EDM, hip hop or rock, there is no shortage of female music fans for each genre.  So if you’re looking for the best place to purchase or catch live music, you’re best bet is to ask a Philly girl.

They Appreciate Art

Boasting the most murals of any city in the U.S, it’s almost impossible not to grow up loving the art here. Throw in museums such as The Barnes Foundation and the Philadelphia Museum of Art and you have the perfect storm for an art fan.

They Know Their Sports

This doesn’t need much explanation.  Go to any live sporting venue here and Philly and believe me it will be far from a sausage fest.  An abundance of women can be seen in the stands cheering as hard and loud as any guy in the arena.  So if you want a woman passionate about sports, this is the first place to start looking.

They Can Turn-on the Attitude

Philly women can be as cordial as a southern bell but rub them the wrong way and they can make a sailor blush.  The Philly attitude is in their DNA and can be evoked at a drop of a hat.  So our advice is to keep them happy.  Food and sports will most likely do the trick.

They Know How to Keep the Party Going

Clubs and nightlife venues live and die by the female crowds.  So if you want to know the best place to go out again ask a Philly girl.  Want to keep the party going after 2 am? Philly women are always the first to know where the after party is because every smart promoter is aware that the woman should be the first to know.

They Represent Everywhere They Go

Pretty much every Philly girl as some sort of sports paraphernalia so when they head out-of-town you better believe they rep hard.  No Philly gear no problem because the accent is undeniable.

They Know Good Beer

Hey Philly is a beer town and the women who reside in the city for the most part embrace it.  Head to any craft beer spot in town and you’ll see Philly women throwing ice cold brews back with the best of them.  Save the fancy shmancy cosmo drinks for the New York girls.

 They’re Tough

Philly is a tough town and you have to be pretty tough to call this place home. Growing up here you have to be pretty street savvy with a little fight in you.  So if you’re looking for a woman you can boss around we suggest you look elsewhere.

 They Know Deals

Philly has its fair share of high-end stores and homes but outlets, thrifty boutiques and affordable housing makes up the majority of Philly and the women here take advantage of this. So if you want to pay $6k to live in a closet NYC and LA are calling your name.  If you want a house with a yard at a friendly price then stay awhile.
