Sisterly Love Collection is Hosting “Women’s Way Wednesday” at Stratus Rooftop Featuring Women Chefs & Musicians

What better way to celebrate Women’s History Month than to support women-owned small businesses here in Philly. Well, now you can shop local in one place thanks to the Sisterly Love Collection.

In honor of March being Women’s History Month, Stratus Rooftop Lounge at Kimpton Hotel Monaco and Sisterly Love Collective have teamed up for the second year to present Women’s Way Wednesdays, a weekly pop-up celebrating various women-owned and operated culinary and beverage purveyors, as well as musicians, in the Philly region.

Women’s Way Wednesdays kicks off on Wednesday, March 6 from 5:30 – 8PM at Stratus Rooftop Lounge, with first featured Chefs Liz Grothe of Couch Café and Melissa McGrath of Sweet Amalia Market, each presenting a selection of hors d’oeuvres, in addition to live music, and pay-as-you-go craft cocktails, local beer and wine.

Following, Stratus Rooftop Lounge will host a different chef every Wednesday from 5:30 – 8PM. Each chef will present thoughtfully curated small bites in addition to cocktails, brews, global wines, and pastries, plus live entertainment and an interactive meet & greet with featured chefs. The current culinary line-up and list of musical acts is as follows:

Wednesday, March 6:

Wednesday, March 13:

Chefs Sashia Liriano and Diana Widjojo (Saviñon, New Carribbean Cuisine; Rice & Sambal) Music by Lily Enos

Wednesday, March 20:

Wednesday, March 27:

Sisterly Love Collective cocktail party style finale Music by Suede Lace

“We are so happy to continue this March tradition of celebrating and showcasing women in food, beverage, and hospitality,” said Jill Weber, Co-Chair of Sisterly Love Collective. “The Sisterly Love Collective champions and supports women year-round, and this is an opportunity to share that love with the eating and drinking public!”

Following the weekly happy hour-style receptions on March 6, 13, and 20, the final Women’s Way Wednesdays event will take place on Wednesday, March 27, presented as a collaborative cocktail soirée led by Sisterly Love Collective. Attendees can expect an array of small bites from an extensive collection of notable culinary talent including (but not limited to) Ann Karlen (Third Wheel Cheese); Carolyn Nguyen (Revolution Taco); Thanh Nguyen (Gabriella’s Vietnam); Lisa Calvo (Sweet Amalia Oyster Farm); and Justine MacNeil (Fiore Fine Foods). In addition to passed fare, Stratus Rooftop Lounge’s adjacent enclosed pavilions Mist and Vapor will each boast fun, elevated pairings and tastings such as beer tastings courtesy of women-owned breweries Attic Brewing Company, Philadelphia Brewing Company, and Love City Brewing, wine tastings from JLOHR Vineyards, Famille Perrin, Marques de Caceres, rum tastings by Sofia Deleon of Tenango Rum, and more.

Imbibers attending one or multiple Women’s Way Wednesdays can select from a host of featured craft cocktails utilizing women-owned distilleries, wines by the glass from women winemakers such as Cecile Perrin and Kristin Barnhisel, and local brews from Love City Brewing, Philadelphia Brewing Company, and Attic Brewing Company. Additionally, during each weekly pop-up, representatives from Sisterly Love Collective will greet guests at the 10th floor landing of the Kimpton Hotel Monaco with food and beverage samples, available throughout the event.

Women’s Way Wednesdays brings together the Philadelphia area’s top tier culinary and beverage talent to celebrate their talent and standing success, but also to benefit Women’s Way, Philadelphia’s leading nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of women, girls, and gender and racial equity, as well as Sisterly Love Collective, an alliance of women across the Philadelphia region banding together to empower and advance women in the food and hospitality space through mentorship, networking, and communal support. Profits from Women’s Way Wednesdays ticket sales will benefit both Women’s Way and Sisterly Love Collective, as well as $1 from every wine featured on sister restaurant and bar Red Owl Tavern’s Women in Wine menu and cocktail featured on the Women’s Way Wednesdays menu at Stratus Rooftop Lounge will benefit Sisterly Love Collective.

“We’re thrilled to be hosting Women’s Way Wednesdays with Sisterly Love Collective for the second year, as a way to show our appreciation and admiration for Philadelphia’s impressive repertoire of women purveyors in the hospitality industry – but to support two very important organizations within the community,” said Erik Travers, Director of Restaurants, Bars and Events for Kimpton Hotel Monaco.

Tickets for the Sisterly Love Collective finale, held on Wednesday, March 27, will be $75 per person, all-inclusive and include two beverage tickets, as well as complimentary wine and beer tastings. For the first three Wednesdays, from March 6 through March 20, tickets will be priced at $35 per person and includes an exquisite variety of one-of-a-kind bites, one complimentary cocktail, and additional beverages available for purchase à la carte. Tickets for each weekly event are required and can be purchased by clicking HERE, and those interested in attending all four Women’s Way Wednesdays can purchase one all-encompassing ticket for $145 per person.
