You Can Watch National Treasure, Hamilton, and More During Independence Mall’s ‘Movies on the Mall’ Series
Summer movie nights are returning to the heart of Historic Philadelphia as the Philadelphia Visitor Center Corporation and Independence Historical Trust team up once again for Movies on the Mall, a free outdoor film series celebrating the history and themes of Independence National Historical Park.
Taking place throughout the summer and fall on Independence Mall, the family-friendly series invites guests to enjoy iconic films under the stars while surrounded by some of the nation’s most historic landmarks.
Admission is free and includes complimentary popcorn for attendees. Guests are encouraged to arrive at least 45 minutes before dusk to enjoy pre-show activities and programming before the screenings begin.
This year’s lineup features a mix of historical dramas, family favorites, and Philadelphia-inspired adventures:

The outdoor screenings are designed to connect audiences with stories tied to American history, independence, and culture while activating one of Philadelphia’s most iconic public spaces.
Organizers encourage guests to bring blankets, chairs, and friends for an evening of movies, history, and community gathering in the heart of the Historic District.
