Reading Terminal Market today announced that it was voted Best Public Market in America following a USA Today 10Best Reader’s Choice competition.

An initial list of 20 markets was nominated by a panel of 10Best local experts and contributors and voters participated to narrow it down to the top 10. Voting ran from March 15 through April 12 with readers able to vote once per day, per device. Joining Reading Terminal Market in the top three spots are West Side Market in Cleveland and Findlay Market in Cincinnati.

“This year has shown us that the love for Reading Terminal Market spreads far and wide, and that’s one of the things that has empowered our Market to persevere through a truly challenging time. Thank you to everyone who voted for us, shared the contest, and continues to support the Market and its merchants,” said Annie Allman, CEO and General Manager of Reading Terminal Market. “We hope this serves as a reminder that America’s public markets are open and ready to serve both locals and visitors. As Philadelphia’s most-visited tourist destination and the city’s historic public market, we are available and accessible seven days a week. Fresh things are happening at the Market every day and we invite customers to come enjoy them!”

Reading Terminal Market is home to more than 70 small, family-owned businesses. The Market recently extended its Sunday hours so the building is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week. Limited indoor and outdoor dining are available for customers and masks continue to be required inside the building. More than 50 merchants are available for delivery within 10 miles of the Market through Mercato.
