Want to Learn a New Skill While Sippin’ on Wine? Fishtown is Hosting a Sippin’ & Stitchin’ Workshop!
If you’re like me, the last time you picked up a sewing kit was during home-Ec class back in the day. However, sewing and stitching is a very handy skill to have especially as you get a little older and want to patch or spruce up old gear or to begin a new hobby.
For those interested in learning to stitch and create some cool art pieces in the process, the Sippin & Stitchin’ workshop is coming Konrad Square (2200 E. Dauphin St.) in Fishtown on October 18th from 2-5 pm. Tickets are $45 a pop with 10% going towards The Loveland Foundation which is committed to showing up for communities of color in unique and powerful ways, with a particular focus on Black women and girls.
Attendees will learn the basics as well as some leafy 3D stitching with “autumn-y, halloween-y” ideas as well as some beautiful fall threads on deck. So even if you’ve never picked up a needle before, you can walk away with an awesome project in-hand.
Tickets include:
- An embroidery kit (hoop, practice fabric and premium fabric, needle and threader that you are able to keep.
- Access to an array of premium thread and all supplies needed to start and complete your fall project
- Three hours of hands-on guidance
This is a social distanced event and all attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket and mask.
