Village Whiskey’s New “Blind Flights” Allows Guests to Win a $100 Gift Card If They Can Guess Correctly
Garces puts a new twist on March Madness with a special month-long celebration of whiskey with specials and events for the novice to the pro whiskey drinker. In honor of International Whiskey Day on March 27th, Garces and Village Whiskey (118 S 20th St.) will honor the brown spirit all month long starting with a special Guess Who Flight competition, where one winner will win a $100 gift card if they guess the blind flight selections.
For burger lovers, pair flights, pours and whiskey cocktails with The Ball Hog, a new burger with Village Smash Burger, Porchetta Pork Belly, Caramelized Leek and Onion, Boursin Goat Cheese and Sage Mayonnaise. On Thursday, March 10th, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, Village Whiskey will host a special three course Whiskey Lovers Rejoice Dinner with Tullamore D.E.W. On National Whiskey Day, Sunday, March 27th, Village Whiskey will celebrate with all day specials from 12:00pm to 9:00pm.
Village Whiskey features one of Philadelphia’s most comprehensive selections of more than 200 whiskeys alongside what has been called the country’s best burger, the award-winning Whiskey King. Envisioned by Chef Garces as a spot where he and his team could enjoy a drink and a snack after a long night in the kitchen, the restaurant’s focal point is the central bar that is home to their near-encyclopedic catalogue of Chef Garces’ favorite spirit, whiskey.The trained bartenders shake and stir classic and contemporary cocktails in a space evocative of a Prohibition-era speakeasy. In honor of Garces’ favorite spirit, Village Whiskey will put a new twist on March Madness with a month-long celebration of the brown spirit.
On Thursday, March 10th, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, Village Whiskey will host a special three course Whiskey Lovers Rejoice Dinner with Tullamore D.E.W. For $65 per person, guests will enjoy three courses and three pairings from a special menu prepared exclusively for this event. Course one will feature Toasted Sourdough, Herb Butter, Whiskey Pickled Beets, Parsnip and Leek Hummus with Marcona Almonds, with a Tullamore D.E.W. 12 year. For second course, guests will enjoy Roasted Airline Chicken, Whiskey Passionfruit Glaze Charred Caulilini with a Tullamore D.E.W. 14 year. Third course will feature Cornetto Chocolate Ganache with Banana Jam, with Tullamore D.E.W. XO Rum Cask. Tullamore D.E.W. will be on site to share whiskey knowledge and entertaining stories to make the night engaging for all.
