The Owners of Nemi Just Opened “La Roma” in Port Richmond Featuring Global Cuisines and Cocktails

If you’re familiar with the Port Richmond dining scene then chances are you’ve stopped by Nemi for their amazing Mexican food and cocktails. Well now it looks like owners Jesus Garcias and Alejandro Fuentes are expending their culinary footprint to feature a new restaurant La Roma (2620 E. Allegheny Ave.) which features global flavors and of course amazing cocktails.

The atmosphere at La Roma is rustic/old world but the vibes are very much in touch with the area since the menu also features the neighborhood staples of kielbasa and house made pirogies.  Chef Daniel Rugeiro helps bring the vision to life with other menu items such Korean Short Ribs (grilled short rib skewers, kimchi, Korean BBQ sauce), Guiso de mariscos (seafood broth, mussels, shrimp, squid roasted tomatoes, corn, peppers, potatoes), Steak Tartar (beef filet, capers, shallots, lemon zest, steak sauce, quail egg, crostin), Poussin (roasted spring chicken, white wine harissa sauce, mini sweet peppers, potatoes), and more.

As for the cocktails, Jesus and Alejandro are keeping with the tradition of quality cocktails which includes La Roma Old Fashioned (whiskey, coffee liquor, vanilla syrup, bitters), Zona Rosa (silver tequila, fresh lime juice, raw sugar syrup, fresh pomegranate), Pinheiro Caipirinha (cachaca, fresh limes, raw sugar syrup, pineapple puree, Concombre Martini (vodka, fresh lime juice, rawsugar syrup, cucumber puree, champagne) as well as several beers on tap.

“We become with this idea because I am a food lover and I want to Port Richmond have the opportunity to try some of the flavors from around the globe. I choose to stay in Port Richmond because the neighborhood has been very welcoming to us, great customers very loyal and we want to grow with the neighborhood too. As far as I know the area is growing and the locals deserve to have more food places to dine and don’t have to travel to far for a good meal.  We love Port Richmond in fact we are Port Richmond residents,” states Jesus.

La Roma is open Sunday-Thursday 4 pm-10pm and Friday and Saturday 4 pm- 11 pm.
