The Largest LEGO® Travel Store in the Americas is Now Open at Philadelphia International Airport

Travelers passing through Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) now have a new must-see destination. The largest LEGO® travel store in the Americas officially opened today at 10 a.m., bringing an immersive retail experience to the B/C Connector and expanding the brickmaker’s beloved presence at one of the region’s busiest transportation hubs.

Spanning approximately 1,000 square feet, the new LEGO Store offers passengers a dynamic and interactive shopping experience designed to spark creativity, capture memories, and add a sense of play to every traveler’s journey. Guests can explore hands-on building opportunities at the in-store play table and browse a wide range of sets from the world’s most popular LEGO themes — including Star Wars™, Harry Potter™, DC Batman™, LEGO City, holiday collections, travel-friendly exclusives, minifigures, and more.

A highlight of the grand opening is the unveiling of a permanent LEGO Mummer sculpture, created entirely from LEGO bricks to honor Philadelphia’s famed Mummer tradition. This custom display, unique to the PHL store, continues the LEGO brand’s tradition of celebrating local culture through original builds.

In another first, the store introduces a special LEGO® Passport stamp available only at PHL. LEGO Passport books — free to shoppers — allow fans from around the world to collect exclusive stamps from certified LEGO Stores as they travel. Visitors during the grand opening period can also enjoy special gifts with purchase.

The LEGO brand already has a strong connection to Philadelphia travelers. The full-scale LEGO Liberty Bell in Terminal A-West has been a top photo spot for more than a decade, and three automated LEGO vending machines — located in Concourses A, D, and E — remain some of PHL’s most popular self-serve retail amenities. Their success reflects the brand’s enduring appeal and the airport’s steadily growing passenger volume.

“We are excited to welcome the LEGO airport store to Philadelphia International Airport and congratulate our partner Airport Retail Stores on the official opening,” said Annette Rosendahl, Head of Travel Retail Expansion for The LEGO Group. “We celebrate that this store is our largest travel store in the Americas… This fantastic LEGO store offers an immersive brand experience that allows Philadelphia travelers to engage with our brand.”

Mel Hannah, Vice President and General Manager of MarketPlace PHL, noted the momentum already established by LEGO’s existing vending footprint. “The three existing automated vending machines that feature LEGO products are restocked constantly. It’s a testament to the LEGO brand’s enduring multi-generational loyalty combined with the powerful and growing volume of passenger traffic at PHL.”

The store is operated by Airport Retail Stores, a family-run airport specialty retailer known for innovative and high-traffic concepts across the country. Their partnership with the LEGO Group brings both operational expertise and thoughtful curation to the new space.

Kate Sullivan, Chief Commercial Officer for the Department of Aviation, emphasized the store’s local significance. “We welcome the increased presence and expanded footprint of LEGO products and are thrilled to enhance our retail offerings for travelers of all ages. The LEGO Group is a renowned global brand, yet our new LEGO Store will be uniquely ‘Philly’ with the unveiling of an original sculpture that brings Philadelphia into the airport.”

With its grand opening, Philadelphia International Airport becomes not only a gateway to the world but also a destination for LEGO fans of all ages — offering a memorable and uniquely Philadelphia experience before they even take off.
