An Eagles Tailgate Will Donate 100% of Its Proceeds to Cradles to Crayons to Help Fight Children’s Clothing Insecurity in Philly

Eagles fans will once again rally for a meaningful cause as the 2025 Eagles Charity Tailgate returns November 28, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 3600 S Broad Street. What began as a tribute to a beloved friend has grown into a cherished annual tradition that unites fans, families, and local businesses—all in support of Cradles to Crayons Philadelphia.

Now in its twelfth year, the charity tailgate was founded by Temple University alum Timothy Murray in memory of his close friend Lee Wagenhoffer, who graduated from Temple and passed away in 2010. Murray, deployed in Afghanistan at the time of Lee’s funeral, sought a way to honor him upon returning home. Working closely with Lee’s mother, he launched the tailgate fundraiser in Lee’s honor, choosing Cradles to Crayons due to Lee’s active involvement with their North Philadelphia chapter.

“Lee was an avid Eagles fan and loved how the team brought people together,” organizers shared. “This tradition has been a staple for his close friends and family for the last 12 years. Each year we try to grow the event to reach more people and raise more money for the charity. We lean on the support of local businesses eager to donate food, beverages, and entertainment.”

Today, the event stands as a powerful tribute—where 100% of proceeds benefit Cradles to Crayons Philadelphia, whose mission is to ensure children from birth through age 12 have the essential items they need to thrive at home, at school, and at play. Through community-driven support, Cradles to Crayons provides clothing, school supplies, winter gear, hygiene products, and more to children in homeless or low-income situations, always free of charge. Their ultimate vision: that every child feels safe, warm, valued, and ready to learn.
