The Fishtown Freeze Takes Place This Weekend Featuring 20+ Ice Sculptures, Pop-up Market, Cocktail Crawl & More
If you’re looking for the ultimate festive winter backdrop to not only shop but enjoy great food and drinks, then you may want to check out the Fishtown Freeze taking place December 9th and 10th.
Now in its 5th year, Fishtown Freeze is put on by the Fishtown Kensington Area Business Improvement District and Fishtown Co. and will feature over 20 ice sculptures that will be located along Frankford Ave. for plenty of photo-ops while shopping at local retailers who will offering discounts for shoppers.
Not only will guests be able to check out sculptures bu
t they’ll also be treated to live ice sculpture carvings by Ice Sculpture Philly (1:00pm Lutheran Settlement House, 2:30pm Garage, 4:00pm Mural City Garden) and, new this year, outdoor pop-up makers markets throughout the day on December 9th.
Oh and in case you were wondering, yes Santa will be on-hand for photos as well. For those looking to enjoy the best food and drinks Fishtown has to offer, Fishtown Freeze offers food and drink specials at all your favorite restaurants as well as some caroling.
Sculptures will be located at: Alamodak Restaurant, Cake Life Bake Shop, Cheu/Nunu, Cloud 9 Clay, Fishtown Animal Hospital, Fishtown Jewelers, Fishtown Social, Fishtown Tavern, Front Street Café, Garage, International Bar, JINXED, Joe’s Steaks + Soda Shop, Johnny Brenda’s, Lutheran Settlement House (live carve), Mural City Garden (live carve), Philadelphia Distilling, PROPER Goods, Riverwards Produce, Sancho Pistolas, Two Robbers, and Vince’s Pizzeria
Shopping Spree: Saturday December 9 (12:00-8:00 PM) + Sunday December 10 (12:00-6:00 PM)
The holiday shopping spree is a progressive sale at more than 20 local, independent shops and boutiques. Customers get increasing discounts the more they shop, starting with 5% off their first store during the event, and increasing discounts up to 20% for all additional participating stores for the weekend, plus complimentary beverages and holiday snacks at select locations along the way. Shoppers can also enjoy food and drink specials once they’ve made 4 purchases, including a complimentary glass of bubbles at Fishtown Social.
