Cappelli’s Bros. Cheesesteaks Opens New Location at Gather Food Hall in University City
Gather Food Hall has announced Cappelli’s Bros. Cheesesteaks (Cappelli’s) as its newest vendor opening on June 4, bringing the Philadelphia-born concept to the University City destination in Schuylkill Yards. Led by brothers Michael and Andrew Cappelli and brand developer Todd O’Connor, the new outpost further expands Gather’s curated lineup of local culinary concepts while continuing the food hall’s commitment to student support, neighborhood engagement, and dynamic public programming.
“Philadelphia is a world-class food city, and we are honored to contribute to its ongoing energy,” said Michael and Andrew Cappelli. “With so many college students and young professionals passing through Schuylkill Yards every day, Gather has become more than just a place to eat, it’s become a place to come together. This new location allows us to bring an authentic Philadelphia experience to a new generation of innovators, residents, and students in University City.”
Philadelphia-born Cappelli’s will serve a menu centered around classic cheesesteaks alongside loaded fries, protein bowls, and house specialties designed for both quick lunches, dinners and late-night bites. Menu highlights include steak and chicken cheesesteaks, buffalo chicken fries, cheesesteak-loaded fries, and vegetarian options.
Cappelli’s joins Gather Food Hall’s diverse roster of vendors including Mucho Perú, Sahbyy Food, El Mictlan, and Bowl’d Masala, alongside the full-service Bulletin Bar, which offers handcrafted cocktails, draft beer, and wine. Located in the historic Bulletin Building at 3025 Market Street in Schuylkill Yards, Gather Food Hall is a 13,000-square-foot culinary destination developed by Hospitality HQ in partnership with Brandywine Realty Trust.
The Cappelli brothers continue to operate several Philadelphia hospitality concepts, including 15th Street Pizza and Cheesesteaks, Pizzeria Cappelli, and Cappelli Cigar Shop along the Philadelphia’s Midtown Village corridor.
As Gather continues to grow its culinary offerings, the destination has also expanded its lineup of recurring programming and community activations throughout the spring and summer season — arriving just in time for Philadelphia’s unprecedented summer on the global stage, with the city set to host the FIFA World Cup, America’s 250th celebrations, MLB All-Star Week, and more. Weekly and monthly programming currently includes free-to-participate Brewer Spotlights on the first Tuesday of each month from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Karaoke Wednesdays from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Music Bingo Thursdays from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and rotating Sunday Happy Hour DJs from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. As excitement builds around the FIFA World Cup matches coming to Philadelphia, Gather will also serve as a destination for fans throughout the tournament, featuring game watch experiences and themed programming tied to the citywide celebration. Additional programming, including acoustic patio performances and seasonal activations, will continue to roll out throughout the summer.
