The 2021 Philadelphia Flower Show Will Be Held Outdoors at FDR Park
Early this year we reported that the Pennsylvania Horticulture Society was looking for a new home to host the 2021 Philadelphia Flower Show. Due to the pandemic PHS particularly wanted the show to take place outdoors to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Now it looks like PHS has finally found a home for the flower show at FDR Park.
Slated to run June 5th-13th, the Philadelphia Flower Show which attracted around 250,000 attendees in 2019 has been one of the city’s biggest and longest running draws. In fact Philadelphia has been hosting the flower show for nearly 200 years and it is currently the largest indoor flower show in the world.
“We are working closely with our colleagues at Philadelphia Parks and Recreation and a host of planning experts including the Department of Public Health in Philadelphia to develop the Flower Show into a safe, beautiful, and extraordinary outdoor experience for everyone,” PHS stated to its members yesterday. The 2021 theme will be “HABITAT, Nature’s Masterpiece.” Details such as hours, and other guidelines will be revealed in the coming months.
