Stratus Rooftop is Set to Host the 12th Annual Spring Awakening With a 70’s, 80’s & 90’s Glam Hollywood Theme
Spring has sprung and to celebrate, Stratus Rooftop Lounge, located on the 11th floor of the Kimpton Hotel Monaco in Old City, is hosting its 12 year of the popular Spring Awakening extravaganza. This year’s event is titled “Starry Night: Hollywood Glam by the Decade” will take place on Friday, April 28th starting with a VIP party featuring a select open bar from 5:30 – 8:30pm, followed by 8:30pm – 2am General Admission.
So what can guests expect from this Hollywood movie premiere-influenced soirée? Well live music from SNACKTIME and noted DJs spinning vinyl for starters as well as classic cocktails and elevated hors d’oeuvres popular from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. In addition Madonna-inspired burlesque, go-go dancers, breakdancers, and so on will be entertaining the crowd.
Spring Awakening marks the return of Stratus Rooftop Lounge’s official kick off to the spring and summer season. The lavish soirée previews the newly launched seasonal cocktail menu courtesy of Lead Bartender Patrick Banko, and includes exquisite, expertly curated fare from the talented culinary team at Stratus Rooftop Lounge and sister restaurant Red Owl Tavern.
For one-night-only, attendees can expect a festive and over-the-top transformation of the adjacent indoor pavilions Mist and Vapor as well as the main bar and lounge to each replicate a different decade with the overarching theme of a Hollywood movie premiere. Each room will transport guests back in time to the 70s, 80s, and 90s, rife with spirited sippers (think: riffs on Tequila Sunrise, Sex on the Beach, Cosmopolitan) and a plethora of light bites inspired by popular foods from each era. The scenic display will feature iconic hues, textiles and strobe lighting local to its respective decade, plus movie posters of legendary films, a replica of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, glittery, reflective disco balls, a red carpet, plenty of themed backdrops for Instagram-able photo opportunities, and more.

As for entertainment, local DJs – including the fan-favorite DJ Romain, DJ Vanya, and DJ Hollywood – will spin vinyl throughout the evening, and Best of Philly 2022 winner SNACKTIME is set to wow the crowd during 30-minute sets in between DJ acts. Mist and Vapor pavilions will simultaneously offer an interactive experience for guests complete with elaborate 80’s-inspired burlesque performances from über-popular entertainers Lelu Lenore, Mika Romantic, and more, in addition to go-go dancers and professional breakdancers.
Tickets for VIP cocktail hour (5:30 – 8:30pm), which includes complimentary fare, access to all entertainment and select open bar, are priced at $100 per person.
