South Philly Barbacoa is Throwing a Block Party With Free Food in Celebration of Their 10 Year Anniversary

South Philly Barbacoa (1140 S. 9th St.) owners Ben Miller and Cristina Martinez are inviting the community for a block party on July 31st from 3 pm to 8 pm to celebrate their 10 year wedding anniversary. The block party will take place in front of South Philly Barbacoa and their newer restaurant, Casa Mexico.

The block party will also be a celebration of Cristina’s recent James Beard Award. As part of the celebration the 1100 block of South 9th Street will be shut down.  Guests will be able to enjoy live music, drinks, a live lamb petting zoo, as well as free food and pastries. Yes, free food from the award winning chef and pastries from The People’s Kitchen will be given out as well.

In addition Fletcher Street Riding Club will be onsite for free horse rides.  Local vendors will also be on-hand as well as an art show from Amber Arts and Design. This event is free to attend for children and adults (must be 21+ to drink).
