Scrapple & Apple Festival Returns to Reading Terminal Market With 30+ Vendors and Sculpting Competition

Reading Terminal Market will once again celebrate two of Pennsylvania’s most beloved traditions — scrapple and apples — at the Scrapple & Apple Festival 2025 on Saturday, October 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The annual event showcases creative twists on the regional staple scrapple and seasonal apple favorites, offering a day full of food, fun, and community.

Scrapple Sculpting Contest

The festival kicks off early with the 2nd Annual Scrapple Sculpting Contest on Friday, October 10, at 12 p.m. Artists and scrapple enthusiasts are invited to carve five-pound blocks of scrapple into imaginative works of art.

  • Prizes: A Scrapple Trophy and a $100 Market Gift Card

  • Winners: One winner selected Friday by a local sculptor; a second winner selected Saturday by public vote

  • Entry: Free, open to participants 18+ (all contestants receive a festival T-shirt)

Scrapple Creations

Market vendors are putting bold spins on the beloved dish with options that range from traditional to inventive. Highlights include:

  • Butcher’s Pantry – Scrapple Cheesesteak with caramelized onions, smoked gouda, and cider ketchup; Scrapple & Ribeye Sliders with brie and spiced apple-onion jam; Scrapple & Chive Tater Tots with apple butter BBQ

  • Down Home Diner – Scrapple Fries with homemade apple butter

  • Dutch Eating Place – Classic scrapple slices

  • El Merkury – Scrapple Taquitos

  • Flying Monkey Bakery – Scrapple Shortbread Cookies
