SCARPETTA IS SET TO OPEN IN RITTENHOUSE, HERE’S WHAT TO EXPECT
LDV Hospitality announces the official opening of its signature modern restaurant Scarpetta on Sept. 28th, 2016. Joining Philadelphia’s dynamic dining scene, Scarpetta will be LDV Hospitality’s first restaurant opening in the city. Scarpetta will be located at the storefront, two-story space at The Rittenhouse, the iconic hotel located in the heart of Philadelphia’s historic Rittenhouse Square. “We’re honored to be part of Philadelphia’s vibrant dining scene,” says LDV Hospitality’s President,
John Meadow. “There is a wealth of talent and energy in this city, and we look forward to being among some of the best chefs and restaurateurs in the country.” Scarpetta’s culinary chef team consists of Executive Chefs Jon Oh and Jorge Espinoza, who havebeen in the Scarpetta kitchen together for several years. Together they will guide the menu alongside local Chef Joseph Nocella, while Philadelphia native and Del Frisco’s alum Drew Carballo will lead the front-of- house team as General Manager.
The philosophy of Scarpetta’s kitchen is to create bold flavors by amplifying the essence of seasonal, fresh ingredients. The signature pastas are made in-house daily and are paired with the highest quality, locally-sourced ingredients. Scarpetta’s renowned “Spaghetti, Tomato & Basil” is nothing short of classic simplicity in both taste and preparation.
Scarpetta will open for dinner with lunch and brunch service to follow. Guests can enjoy a decadent, modern Italian menu featuring dishes such as Yellowtail Crudo, Creamy Polenta, Short Rib Agnolotti, Roasted Branzino, and their signature Spaghetti.
The décor features a minimalist, contemporary design incorporating raw and natural materials such as reclaimed white oak, honed calacatta gold marble, and distressed leathers. The modern design, driven by these organic materials, manifests itself as understated and effortless yet unapologetically luxe.
The 7,000 square foot, 150-seat dining room sits on the upper level of the restaurant, with expansive floor-to- ceiling views overlooking Rittenhouse Square and an intimate dining area that captures the essence of a dinner party. Downstairs, Scarpetta’s 30-seat bar and sizeable lounge area will offer Philadelphian’s a lively social scene to enjoy an after-work cocktail paired with crudo or a bowl of spaghetti. The craft cocktail
program boasts signature libations ranging from classics such as the Barrel-Aged Negroni to a light and refreshing Margarita Italiana. The expansive wine list features a diverse selection of both old and new world wines, with a focus on the classic regions of Italy, available by both the glass and bottle. The original Scarpetta opened in New York City’s Meatpacking District in 2008 to a critically acclaimed coveted three-star review from The New York Times.
Thereafter, Scarpetta Restaurants have opened at The Fontainebleau in Miami, The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas and Gurney’s Montauk Resort in The Hamptons.
