Rittenhouse’s Newest Spot, Bar Poulet Will Be Selling Buckets of Chicken & Champagne!
This is probably the best combo we never knew we needed. Bar Poulet (2005 Walnut St.) which is scheduled to open in April will be “the world’s fanciest fried chicken joint.” That’s right fancy fried chicken with a nice glass of champagne to wash it all down.
“Bar Poulet is where upscale dining meets guilty pleasure — redefining your classic bucket of fried chicken with a glass of authentic French bubbly. Yeah, it’s a thing. Like Gwen and Blake — unexpected, but pretty perfect,” their website states.
Guests will be able to purchase buckets of white or dark meat. All chicken is, antibiotic-free, organic and certified humane raised and handled. In addition an array of fancy dripping sauces will also be on-hand including Dijonnaisse, Beer-naise, Roquefort, Curry Mayonnaise, Black Pepper Lavender Honey, Truffle Velouté. Bar Poulet will also offer a variety of sides including Pommes Purée, Frites, Cauliflower Gratin, Haricots Verts, Brussels Sprouts, Marinated Heirloom Tomatoes, Cornichons Garnisof.
As for libations, there’s plenty of that here. Bar Poulet will carry exclusively French bubbly and wines, from sparking, red, white and pink. Hand crafted cocktails and plenty of beer beer options are also available for those that may want to skip the champagne and wine. No word yet on the exact opening date.
