South Street will transform into a medieval playground as Queen & Rook Game Cafe hosts its Fantasy Faire Block Party on Saturday, May 2, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Taking over the 100 block of South Street between 2nd and Front Streets, this free, all-ages festival blends Renaissance Faire energy with fantasy fandom, inviting guests to step into a world of knights, pirates, and magical creatures. Costumes are strongly encouraged, adding to the immersive experience.

Expect a packed lineup of performances both on the main outdoor stage and inside Queen & Rook’s multi-level venue. This year’s performers include:

The Great Fairy Games, Tomfoolery Live, Opera on Tap Philly, Burbage & The Bard, Cardinal Sins Pyrates, Robin Shakesqueer, Sing Slavic, Philly Common Fencing HEMA, Andrew Drumdrum, Matteo Sings, Ames Belmont, along with stage combat demonstrations by Julian Perez and fire performances by Katarina and Gwen Fire Arts.

One of the biggest draws of the festival is its expansive vendor lineup, featuring more than 35 creators offering everything from handmade goods and jewelry to fantasy art, dice, candles, and more.
