Philadelphia Welcomes Homecoming 250®: A Star-Studded Celebration Honoring the 250th Birthdays of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps

The birthplace of America’s maritime legacy is about to host one of the most significant military celebrations in modern history. Homecoming 250 Navy Marine Corps (Homecoming 250®) will bring a week-long series of events to the Philadelphia region from October 9 through October 16, 2025, honoring the 250th anniversaries of the United States Navy and Marine Corps.

This once-in-a-lifetime national celebration — set against the historic backdrop of Philadelphia, Camden County, NJ, and the Delaware River waterfront — will include ship tours, parades, concerts, and tributes to service members and veterans.

Thousands of visitors from across the country are expected to descend upon the Delaware River region for a full week of festivities. As part of the official Semiquincentennial celebrations, Homecoming 250® stands as the largest military tribute of the 250th commemoration — a milestone that will not be seen again for another two and a half centuries.

Among the many highlights are celebrity appearances by legendary singer Patti LaBelle, comedian and Marine Corps Veteran Rob Riggle, and celebrity chef Robert Irvine, all joining the celebration to honor those who have served.

Victory at Sea Concert – Saturday, October 12
Philadelphia’s own Patti LaBelle will take center stage during the star-studded Victory at Sea Concert, hosted by Rob Riggle, known for his comedic roles in The Hangover and Step Brothers as well as his 23-year Marine Corps Reserve service. The concert will feature performances by The U.S. Navy Band, The Commandant’s Own United States Marine Drum & Bugle Corps, and special guests Justin Guarini and Rhonda Vincent & The Rage. The evening will culminate in a spectacular fireworks display over the Delaware River.

All Veterans Reunion Picnic – Sunday, October 13
Celebrity chef and British Royal Navy Veteran Robert Irvine, host of Restaurant: Impossible, will headline the All Veterans Reunion Picnic, serving as judge for several food competitions. The event will also feature activities honoring veterans and their families in a day dedicated to community and camaraderie.

Navy & Marine Corps 250 Parade – Saturday, October 11
More than 7,000 parade participants will march in a grand patriotic parade through Philadelphia, featuring active-duty service members, veterans, marching bands, and special appearances by NASCAR driver and Navy Veteran Jesse Iwuji.

Parade of Ships – Wednesday, October 9
The week kicks off with the Parade of Ships, as Navy and Coast Guard vessels journey up the Delaware River in a breathtaking display of maritime power and history. Watch parties across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware will be free and open to the public, offering prime viewing locations for families and maritime enthusiasts alike.

Homecoming 250® not only celebrates the rich history of the Navy and Marine Corps, but also shines a light on their enduring role in protecting and serving the nation. From educational exhibits to family-friendly activities, the week-long celebration promises to unite communities in gratitude and pride.

Members of the press and media covering the event are invited to apply for official access credentials by Monday, October 6.
