New Liberty Distillery Expands With Launch of Outdoor Cocktail Garden & Satellite Bar Concept

New Liberty Distillery, the South Kensington craft distillery and home to award-winning spirit lines such as the revived heritage Kinsey brand, is thrilled to announce its expansion into an on-premise outdoor Cocktail Garden, in addition to opening a cozy bar and quaint bottle shop dubbed The Bar Cart, located in West Reading, PA. These expansions follow the distillery’s “insanely” successful fiscal year spanning the duration of the pandemic.
For autumn-deniers looking for the perfect spot to celebrate the late summer season in style, the Cocktail Garden at New Liberty Distillery boasts a full outdoor bar built entirely by distillery staff during the pandemic, plenty of high-top tables for small groups to congregate, and even yard games (cornhole, anyone?), with guests invited to enjoy tastings of New Liberty Distillery’s ever-expanding new offerings under twinkling lights — all set to a good-vibes soundtrack of surf-rock and 90’s jams. The Cocktail Garden will remain open year-round, with eventual plans to pivot into an autumnal escape laden with fire pits, with Christmas tree sales and holiday parties offered at the start of the holiday season.
“We’re so excited to formally launch outdoor space here at the distillery,” said New Liberty Distillery Founder and Master Distiller Rob Cassell. “We’re inviting our friends and neighbors on American Street to grab a few friends, even the dog, and stop by for a drink and some yard games all through the fall.”
Over in West Reading, New Liberty satellite location and brand-new addition The Bar Cart offers guests a cozy yet contemporary bar space with an ambiance akin to an intimate hang-out at a friend’s home, complete with a bottle shop showcasing stock from local Pennsylvania distillers and winemakers.
The Bar Cart, helmed by husband-and-wife team Kacie and Chris Griffiths, functions as a tasting room-meets-bottle shop, offering wine and spirits from craft vendors from across Pennsylvania, and supplying an ever-rotating menu of upscale imbibements made from all-local ingredients, as well as merch including tees, tanks and tote bags. Guests looking to amp up their at-home bartending skills can even take home cocktail recipes from The Bar Cart’s expert mixology team! In the coming months, patrons can look forward to meet and greets with local distillers, winemakers and brewers, as well as partnerships with local purveyors including coffee collaborations, and, eventually, food truck alignments.
“We’re very proud to have launched The Bar Cart because we feel it really relays that comfortable feeling of visiting a close friends’ place, and who doesn’t like to feel right at home at the bar?” said Kacie Griffith, the Pennsylvania State Sales Manager at New Liberty Distillery and Master Tester at The Bar Cart. “It’s also helping to encourage Pennsylvanians to shop from local winemakers and distilleries, like New Liberty, giving them new favorites from right here in the state.”
At both the New Liberty Distillery Cocktail Garden and The Bar Cart, imbibers can enjoy libations selections spanning Kinsey brand craft spirits, seasonally apt hand-crafted cocktails made with local ingredients, an array of candy-colored ALCO Canned Cocktails, in addition to Pennsylvania wine, beer and cider.
