New Italian Steakhouse “SIN Philadelphia” is Coming to Northern Liberties Featuring Dining With Entertainment

Northern Liberties Restaurant Row is getting a new resident. Restaurateur and Co-Owner Justin Veasey, and partners Mike Connors and William Muhr Jr., announce that SIN Philadelphia will open at 1102 Germantown Avenue, on the ground level of The Beverly – a 51 luxury Beverly Hills-inspired apartment complex is also slated to open later this year. SIN, which stands for Steak Italian Nightlife, will bring “vibe dining” to the Philly food scene where diners will enjoy an upscale meal and brunch paired with music and entertainment.

The 4,750 square feet space will feature a main dining room, sweeping bar and private dining room/event space for a total of 200 seats. From the kitchen, SIN will serve homemade cuisine with a menu of unique selections “that are delivered in a high-end and show-stopping way that compliments the vibes of the space and the entertainment,” states the owners.

The scratch kitchen will deliver authentic Italian cuisine, homemade pastas and high-end steaks. For a dish to remember, SIN will feature the experience of “cheese wheel” homemade pasta served tableside. For Sunday vibe brunch, look for upscale dining and plenty of entertainment.

The bar program will feature 50-75 wines by the bottle, 10 by the glass and a focus on martini and unique cocktails. SIN will be open seven days a week with hours Monday to Wednesday, 4:00pm to 11:00pm, Thursday, 4:00pm to Midnight, Friday, 4:00pm to 1:30am, Saturday Brunch, 9:00am to 3:00pm (no DJ), Saturday Dinner, 5:00pm to 1:30am and Sunday Vibe Brunch, 9:30am to 6:00pm.

“SIN (Steak, Italian, Nightlife) Philadelphia aims to bring Miami, LA, and Las Vegas vibes to Philadelphia,” said Veasey. “The goal is to create an atmosphere and vibe while enjoying great food and great company. The team at SIN will consist of seasoned professionals and well known names who bring years of hospitality experience from concepts across the city and region. SIN will open its flagship in Philadelphia, and then explore expanding into other markets such as Boston, South Florida, California, Las Vegas and Dallas.”

Veasey added, “My vision for SIN is to become known as a top destination for unique experience that fuses vibes, entertainment, high end food, unique cocktails, quality service and great company. Our goal is to impress and create memories. If you come on the first date, a business meeting or a special occasion, we want to help make it one for the record books and be a night you will never forget.”

SIN is an Italian steakhouse that is also a “vibe dining” concept that provides a nightlife experience (music/entertainment) while enjoying your dining experience. SIN will also provide an upscale brunch while again incorporating the “vibe dining” concept that provides a nightlife experience (music/entertainment). There are currently no restaurants in the region that offer this unique experience that pairs upscale dining with music and entertainment. Vibe dining is popular in major cities such as New York, Miami, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

For the name, SIN incorporates three things/places Veasey likes to enjoy, Steak Italian Nightlife.” The inspiration comes from two of Justin’s closest friends and also experts/successful in delivering this type of dining experience- Steve Martorano from Café Martorano located in Ft. Lauderdale and Nick Varano from Strega located in Boston.

For food, SIN will serve great homemade cuisine with a menu of unique selections that are delivered in a high-end and show-stopping way that compliments the vibes of the space and the entertainment. The scratch kitchen will deliver authentic Italian cuisine, homemade pastas and high-end steaks. The menu will include vegetarian, vegan and gluten free offerings. For a dish to remember, SIN will feature the experience of “cheese wheel” homemade pasta served tableside.

For Sunday vibe brunch, look for upscale dining, entertainment vibes and cool presentations that you would enjoy coming off a hangover as you evaluate your SINS of the night before.

For drinks, SIN’s bar program will be led by managing partner Veasey and focus on bottled beer, and a mix of upscale and fairly priced bottles of wine, as well as wine by the glass and crafty martinis to add to the experience of the vibe. For wines, look for 50-75 selections to start with upscale pricier selections, as well as more affordable accessible selections. For wines by the glass, look for around 10 selections. For cocktails, look for a focus on martinis and wowing presentations – including “It’s a SIN” is our specialty martini which is blueberry infused vodka, limoncello, blueberry pure and a graham cracker rim, and “Espresso Martini” featuring espresso beans/recipe from Italy which will set us apart from any other espresso martinis made in the city.

For demographic, SIN will appeal to various ages and audiences – where the vibe will match the guests dining at that given time. The vibe will change several times a night to match the mood, and ensure an evolving experience that appeals to all.

For quality service, SIN aims to offer and deliver a hospitality experience not currently found on this side of the city. SIN will bring together a seasoned team of professionals that will put the customer first in a luxe experience where each and every dining experience is memorable and unique. SIN looks to be a destination for foodies from around the region, tourists and visitors, as well as a top spot for weddings, rehearsal dinners, birthday dinners, business dinners and special occasions. For locals, SIN will aim to offer a vibrant bar and happy hour scene, and appeal to those looking for a new weekday dinner option after a long day in the office.

While SIN will aim to target an adult crowd, SIN will also aim to make younger guests comfortable and happy – especially when they come for all-ages family special occasion dining and when they visit for events in the private dining room. High chairs and more basic kid-friendly options will be available.

For the location, SIN will occupy the ground level of The Beverly – a lux apartment development that is the first of its kind in the Philadelphia market. The building will feature a touch of Beverly Hills, 57,000 square feet of space and 51 units. The Beverly is under construction and presented by STAMM Development Group. For more about the building, visit https://stammdevelopment.com/project/the-beverly/

For layout, SIN features 4,750 square feet of space, with seating for 200 in the main dining room, bar and lounge, and private dining room and event space.

For interior design, SIN presents the creative talents of James Morrissey & Zamir Garcia, Founders of Morrissey Design, LLC. Look for a trendy, darker and upscale vibe with a focus on black, grey, silver and white tones, with unique custom lighting by BEAM Ltd.

Veasey said, “We are looking to create an interior aesthetic unlike anything else in Philadelphia with a taste of Miami, Las Vegas and Beverly Hills.”

For audio and visual aspects, look for a state of the art sound system and HD televisions above the bar.

For special events, look for Wine Down Wednesday” with specials on bottles and glasses of wine paired with special mid-week entertainment including a Sinatra singer. Look for a DJ every Friday and Saturday playing the vibe of the guests, and SIN Sundays for vibe brunch.

For jobs, SIN will launch with 20-30 positions in September, and down the road looks to staff up to 50-60 positions including both part and full time.

For parking, SIN is working on arrangements for valet, with details forthcoming when it opens in the fall.

For hours, SIN will be open seven days a week:
Monday to Wednesday, 4:00pm to 11:00pm
Thursday, 4:00pm to Midnight
Friday, 4:00pm to 1:30am
Saturday Brunch, 9:00am to 3:00pm (no DJ)
Saturday Dinner, 5:00pm to 1:30am
Sunday Vibe Brunch, 9:30am to 6:00pm

For the neighborhood dining scene, SIN Philadelphia is one of ten food and drink related grand openings coming to Northern Liberties in 2023 – with other openings to include Playa Bowls, a new restaurant by the owners of El Camino Real and many others. When opened, SIN will be one of the largest and most upscale restaurants in Northern Liberties. SIN will extend the Northern Liberties Restaurant Row all the way to Girard – where one block west Dim Sum House by Jane G’s plans to open its doors to its largest location in summer of 2023. SIN’s opening is timed with the massive growth the neighborhood is seeing with a construction boom around all major intersections – and the population set to double in size over the next 1-3 years.

“Northern Liberties Business Improvement DIstrict welcomes this stunning new high-end addition to the city’s fastest growing neighborhood,” said NLBID Executive DIrector Kris Kennedy. “Northern Liberties Restaurant Row has seen so many high profile grand openings since the pandemic and we are thrilled for yet another quality addition that continues to add to the fabric and diversity of our dining scene. SIN follows openings recently that have included Pietramala, PERA Turkish Cuisine, Suya Suya, Figo Ristorante, Figo Pizzeria, Anejo Philadelphia, SET No Libs, Bagels and Co., Mochinut, The Shake Seafood, The Winston and others. We are excited to add at least ten new food options this year that includes SIN, Playa Bowls and several others yet to be announced. The red hot restaurant scene couldn’t come at a better time as the neighborhood will see its population nearly double over this next 1-3 years with the Northern Liberties construction boom.”

“The location of the property is located in the Northern Liberties Restaurant Row along the red hot strip of restaurants that spans from Girard to Spring Garden, it is located next to Liberties Walk and across from the Piazza.,” said Veasey. “We wanted to be part of the energy, the excitement and the growth in this fast expanded food neighborhood. There’ve been so many of my colleagues opening new restaurants in that Northern Liberties- Fishtown area and this seemed like the perfect spot. The building is also on the intersection of Northern Liberties and Fishtown – and there couldn’t be a hotter spot to open a new restaurant. SIN will be at the epicenter of the two neighborhoods. The building and surrounding restaurants target clientele (28-55) who will enjoy an upscale “vibe dining” concept like SIN. In addition, the branding of the building. The Beverly goes side by side with the concept we are trying to deliver.”
