Matinee Dance Party is Back and Will Take Place at Concourse Dance Bar Offering Prime Nightlife Vibes From 5 pm to 9 pm
Philly’s hottest early-evening dance event is back as Matinee Dance Party returns on Saturday, March 7 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Concourse Dance Bar in Center City.
The event will feature DJ Eddie Tully spinning a mix of today’s hits alongside nostalgic ’90s and early 2000s throwbacks, with the night hosted by Jay the Gentleman. The concept behind the party is simple: recreate the electric energy of a packed dance floor — just earlier in the evening.
“This isn’t a warm-up to something else. It’s the full night, condensed,” said Eddie Tully, creator of Matinee Dance Party. “It’s for people who remember when the dance floor was the plan. We’re bringing back that energy — the songs you forgot you loved, the kind of crowd that actually dances, and a room that feels electric from start to finish.”
Matinee Dance Party has quickly built a following by offering the full nightclub experience without the late-night hours. Guests can enjoy an energetic dance floor, familiar hits, and a social crowd — all wrapped up by 9 p.m.
The party was even recognized by Philadelphia Magazine as the 2025 “Best Dance Party for Those of a Certain Age.”
This edition takes place at Concourse Dance Bar, a hidden nightlife spot tucked between Market Street and JFK Boulevard.
