Kalaya Thai Market and Kismet Bagels Collab for Thai Bagels and Schmear Pop-Up!
Kismet Bagels and Kalaya have teamed up for a special one-time only Thai bagel collaboration, which will take place this Saturday and Sunday, April 17-18 at Kalaya Thai Market located at 922 S. 9th Street in the Italian Market neighborhood. Pre-ordering begins Monday at 9 a.m.
Jacob and Alexandra Cohen of Kismet Bagels, along with pastry chef Erica Pais, Kalaya chef and owner Chutatip “Nok” Suntaranon, and ChefXJeff, teamed up to make two special Thai-inspired bagels, including curry; and butterfly pea flour blueberry, along with four special schmears for the weekend.
Kalaya Thai Market will offer three open-face bagel sandwiches, including Crab Rangoon — curry bagel, crab Rangoon schmear, jumbo lump crab, flying fish roe, fried wontons, and dill ($12.50); Pla Kamin — curry bagel, Pla Kamin schmear with whitefish, kharee powder, and microgreens ($7.50); and Blueberry — blueberry bagel with butterfly pea flour, blueberries, rozelle jelly, and blueberry lemongrass schmear ($7.50). All sandwiches can be pre-ordered on Kalaya’s website, and can be picked up between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Curry bagels; butterfly pea flour blueberry bagels; blueberry lemongrass schmear; Pla Kamin schmear with whitefish and kharee powder; and green curry schmear can all be purchased via Kismet Bagels’ website for Saturday pickup at a table outside of Kalaya Thai Market. Additionally, bagels and schmear will be available for walk-up orders Sunday at the Market. Schmears are $10 apiece, while bagels are three for $8, six for $15, or $24 per dozen.
