Helium Comedy Club Is Looking for Funny Philadelphians to Compete and be Crowned “Philly’s Phunniest”
Do you or someone you know have potential to be crowned “Philly’s Phunniest?” If so Helium Comedy Club is looking for the funniest folks in Philly to compete in a tournament style competition. The 15th-annual Philly’s Phunniest Person Contest begins this spring. Armed with only their own original material, more than 80 aspiring comics will throw their hats in the ring to compete for the title of Philadelphia’s Phunniest Person and take home the $1,200 grand prize.
Registration is currently open and closes on April 4th. Contestants must reside in the Philadelphia area. All competition slots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration will close once all available spaces are filled. For the first 3 rounds of the competition (Prelims through Semi Finals), contestants will be assigned a randomly selected date and lineup slot. Performers must have 4.5 – 6 minutes of original material for the Preliminary Round, 5.5 – 7 minutes for the Quarter Finals, 6.5 – 8 minutes for the Semi Finals, and 8 – 10 minutes for the Championships.
