The Bourse, Old City’s modern artisanal food hall on Independence Mall, is getting in the holiday spirit with Deck the Food Hall, a two-day food hall-wide jolly jamboree, featuring photos with the Grinch and Santa benefitting Morris Animal Refuge, a gingerbread making workshop with Barry’s Buns, Escape the 1980s Santa Experiencelive music, themed food & beverage specials, and more on Saturday, December 14 and Sunday, December 15, 10 am – 4 pm.

Starting at 11 am on both Saturday and Sunday, guests can get their photo taken with either the Grinch or Santa – or both! – in support of Morris Animal Refuge, America’s first animal shelter. For a $20 donation, guests will receive a 4×6 keepsake photo with each of the characters. Attendees can also enter to win The Bourse Basket — chock-full of The Bourse swag as well as goodies from select food hall vendors. All proceeds from the photos and raffle will benefit Morris Animal Refuge.

“We are excited to partner with Morris Animal Refuge to host this family-friendly weekend-long holiday bonanza,” said Arthur Etchells, The Bourse Food Hall General Manager. “In addition to photos with the Grinch and Santa, attendees can expect further holiday excitement, including a surprise caroling flash mob (shhhh), a gingerbread workshop, and themed food and beverage specials from our food hall vendors.”

The Bourse vendors will spark holiday cheer with themed food and beverage specials all weekend, including green Grinch Wings ($10) from Grubhouse, Hot Chocolate ($4) from Menagerie, and seasonal beverages at Kari’s Tea Bar, such as White Chocolate Peppermint Tea Latte ($4.95) and Double Chocolate Hot Cocoa Latte ($5.95), among the mix.

Additional holiday merriment comes in the way of a gingerbread workshop hosted by Barry’s Buns on Saturday, December 14 from 10 – 11:30 am. Before getting photos taken, guests can enjoy a hands-on gingerbread decorating workshop, including an extra large gingerbread house ($75) or gingerbread cookie man ($30), the icing and all of the fixings, as well as professional guidance and instruction. Those interested in participating should call (267) 521-2867.

Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in December, including December 14 and 15, guests can also enjoy The Santa Experience at Escape the 1980s at The Bourse’s Fourth Street entrance. Each player will receive a FREE photo with Santa, as well as enjoy in-game surprises, and more. Those interested in playing can buy tickets here.

Photo Pop’s interactive and highly instagrammable Winter Wonderland art exhibit provides the ultimate backdrop for family holiday photo shoots. Located at the Fifth Street entrance of The Bourse, Photo Pop is open 12-8 pm on Saturdays and 12-6 pm on Sundays.

The Bourse Food Hall is embracing the giving season this year and will have Philabundance and Toys for Tots donation boxes at each entrance through the holidays. Those attending “Deck the Food Hall” are encouraged to bring a donation for one or both charities.
