There’s no denying Philly’s rich history in the skatebaord culture. The city and surrounding areas have produced some of best skaters in the sport. Now South Street-based clothing brand Ethik is looking to tap into the skate scene with their very own Skate Jam.
Ethik’s Skate Jam will take place Saturday May 21st at the Front Street Skatepark (1101 S Front St.) and will feature a 4 obstacle jam contest and the winner takes home $1,000 cash. The contest will be judged by Tom Asta with a $500 in product for 2nd place and $250 in product for 3rd place. Although Ethik has produce events in the past, particularly at SXSW, this is their first major event in Philly.
Ethik will also be onsite vending and doing product tosses. In addition a vintage reseller will also be vending. Saturday looks to be a scorcher, but the event will also feature a water ice truck to help cool everyone down.
Registration starts at 11 am and is free to sign up. The contest itself will start at 1 pm.
