Dollar Dogs are Back: Juana Tamale is Offering $1 Hot Dogs During Every Phillies Home Game
Okay, this isn’t the same as the ballpark experience but it’s a dollar dog night that you can enjoy while watching the Phillies. Jennifer Zavala of Juana Tamale (1941 E Passyunk Ave.) is offering Phillies fans the opportunity to buy $1 hot dogs during all Phillies home games starting with opening day on March 28th.
This special dollar dog promotion will start two hours before each home game to allow fans to stop in and load up on dogs before heading to the game. For those looking to catch the Phillies on the tube, the promotion will run until they close or game is over.
“We are half a block from the train station, the 3rd to last stop before stadium area so if you wanted to get some dogs and chow them down on a nice walk to CBP it would take you 20 mins 30 if you stop at Pops and grab a cherry wooder ice too,” Jennifer states.
Each customer will be have the option to add basic toppings like ketchup, mustard, relish at no extra charge. However, for an additional charge they may add toppings such as bean chili, cheese. and onion relish. There is a 20 dog limit per person. For vegan, Zavala stated that they will be working on a carrot vegan option.
Zavala and her staff won’t be the only only ones slinging dogs, several “food-leberties” will be stopping by as well. “Right now we got Kyle Smith who’s not only my favorite farmer but an active duty men who loves baseball. He’s going to pull up his smoker to sling dogs and we got some other food-‘leberties too.”
“We have a $2 fried hot dog on our homie menu right now and offer a variety of other dog specials too. This weekend we are doing a “goon glizzy” crab rangoon all beef hot dog. Which is $6 Ive been very vocal about my love hot dogs and have mentioned opening a hot dog spot here in Philly if the moment was right. Could this be the moment? I don’t know but what I do hope is everyone does a $1 dog for games too. Its the perfect spark to light the hot dog culture fuse here and hopefully get people to come out to their neighborhood spots to hang out with family and friends to watch the Phills and enjoy hot dogs in the sunshine,” Jennifer adds.
