One of Philadelphia’s best craft beer bars, Devil’s Den, is celebrating the annual first lighting of their iconic wood-burning double-sided fireplace with the Annual Fireplace Lighting Party on Thursday, December 1st at 7 pm featuring an expertly curated list of smoked and wood-aged beers, among other festivities and firsts.
The line-up includes Bourbon Barrel-Aged S.I.P. by 2SP Brewing Co.; Abraxxas, a smoked Berliner Weisse by Freigeist Bierkultur; and Olly, a Sour Brown Ale made with a blend of two- and three-year oak-aged batches by Free Will Brewing Co., among the mix.
In addition to the smoked beers and wood-aged brews, patrons may also enjoy newly released seasonal specialty cocktails and smoky food bites while basking in the blaze from the fireplace.
“I’m a huge fan of the fireplace, says Devil’s Den owner and founder Erin Wallace. “It brings a lot of warmth, especially now that it gets dark so early. I personally love the smell of the wood-burning fireplace. And these beers are perfect to get the season started.”
Additionally, Devil’s Den is launching a new seasonal cocktail list including The Fireplace Sling, made with Bluebird Rye, maple syrup, chocolate; Caramel Mocha Beer Cocktail with Caramel Whiskey, Yards Chocolate Stout, chocolate syrup, cream; Stone Wall with rum, cider, ginger, simple syrup, ginger beer.
