Devil’s Den Presents Romance is Dead: Black Widows, Lethal Lovers, and Couples Who Kill

If you’re looking or something that isn’t all lovey-dovey around Valentine’s Day then Devil’s Den (1148 S 11th St.) is the place to be on February 10th.  Enjoy brew, food, and murder plots as homicide investigator Sarah Cailean hosts Romance is Dead: Black Widows, Lethal Lovers, and Couples Who Kill, an evening of true crime tales from the darker side of love from 7–9pm.

A former detective and police officer, Sarah Cailean, has hosted several true crime events at Devil’s Den that have enticed curious guests and true crime enthusiasts.  Romance is Dead: Black Widows, Lethal Lovers, and Couples Who Kill will explore exes and dives into the sinister side of relationships.  Guests will listen to tales about twosomes and monsters of matrimony’s obscure cases and killers. Additionally, attendees can partake in themed trivia for a chance to win prizes and indulge in signature Devil’s Den fare including Duck Fries, Buffalo Falafel Bites, House-Made Burger, and selection of fan-favorite Mussels.

“This event is a very special take on the generally accepted theme of Valentine’s Day, showing audiences that for some people there is truly no limit to what they will do in the name of love,” said Sarah Cailean, host of Romance is Dead: Black Widows, Lethal Lovers, and Couples Who Kill. “Folks today have shown such a strong interest in learning of past true crime tales – whether it be through podcasts or documentaries – so, I’m happy that I can share my knowledge of true crimes and deliver telling stories that captivate the crowds because of my background as a past police officer and detective.”

Tickets for Romance is Dead: Black Widows, Lethal Lovers, and Couples Who Kill are $15 per ticket – available for purchase online here. Devil’s Den follows all City of Philadelphia COVID-19 guidelines. All guests must wear masks when entering the restaurant, and masks will be required when not seated or actively eating and drinking. Proof of vaccination is required upon entry.
