Chef Smith’s Cray Taste is Bringing Soul Food to Old City
With the help of his mentor Chef J.R Robinson, Saquan Smith began his journey in the culinary arts. It wasn’t long before Chef Smith began to cater events for well noted celebrities and entertainers. Eventually Chef Smith began to throw brunch parties which cultivated a great following and lead Smith to open his first brick and mortar at 3865 N 7th St. in North Philly.
Now, Chef Smith his bringing his popular soul food dishes to Old City with the latest Cray Taste at 118 Market Street. Guests can expect a wide-range of breakfast and brunch options including chicken & waffles, chicken & biscuits, stuffed french toast, steak & eggs, as well as the Cray Omelet (three eggs mixed with cheese spinach, steak, shrimp and crab meat.) Cray Taste will also offer a wide variety of dinner entrees including bronze salmon, jerk barbecue shrimp, garlic parmesan herb crusted lamb rack, New York Steak and their Cray Lobster Tail. For vegans, Cray Taste has several options including a veggie burger, grilled asparagus shitake taco, and tofu. “If you can and dine-in with us, the atmosphere you’re going to love, the service from the hostess to the servers. We’re just providing the best of the best,” Chef Smith states.
Cray Tastes hours of operation are Wednesday-Saturday 10 am – 10 pm, Sunday 12 pm – 1o pm and Monday 10 am – 10 pm, closed Tuesdays.
