Attention Creators, the Philadelphia Camera Show Returns With 30+ Workshops, Discounts, and $5,000 in Prizes
The art of photography takes center stage in Old City this fall as Unique Photo’s Philadelphia Camera Show returns for a two-day celebration of creativity, gear, and community. Taking place on Saturday, November 15, and Sunday, November 16 at Unique Photo’s PA Superstore (28 South 2nd St.), the event will transform Old City and nearby landmarks into a vibrant hub for photographers of all skill levels.
Now in its second year, the Philadelphia Camera Show is designed for everyone from beginners just picking up their first camera to seasoned professionals looking to sharpen their skills or explore new techniques.
Across two packed days, attendees can enjoy:
-
30+ free workshops and live demonstrations
-
20+ top brand vendors showcasing the latest cameras and lenses
-
Photo ops and creators’ challenges with prizes totaling up to $5,000
-
Exclusive discounts on gear, accessories, and photography essentials
Workshops and photo experiences will take place both at Unique Photo’s Old City location and at nearby pop-up sites, including the Museum of the American Revolution and local parks, giving photographers a chance to test equipment and apply new techniques in real-world environments.
The show will feature some of the world’s most respected photographers, educators, and industry experts leading immersive sessions on fine art, lighting, composition, editing, wildlife, portraiture, and videography.
Highlights include:
-
“No Fear Studio Basics” with JC Carey (Westcott) — demystifying lighting for beginners
-
“Fine Art Photography” with Brooke Shaden — exploring emotional storytelling through surreal imagery
-
“Capturing Dance Movement” with Steve Vaccariello — blending art and motion under natural and flash lighting
-
“Wildlife Basics” with Bobby Stormer — using Lightroom’s AI tools for vibrant, natural editing
-
“Creative Storytelling in a Digital Age” with Cesar Lorca (Lumix) — building cinematic video narratives
Throughout the weekend, attendees can participate in live photo shoots, model sessions, and outdoor photowalks, such as Fujifilm’s “Lamborghini Model Shoot on Strawberry Street” or the Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club photowalk with Rick Gerrity.
A major highlight of the show is the Creators Challenge, where photographers submit their best images from the weekend for a chance to win thousands in gear and prizes. Participants are encouraged to “bring their camera” and capture everything from staged sets to spontaneous moments during live shoots.
For those seeking feedback and mentorship, Sony Artisan Brooke Shaden will host small group portfolio reviews, offering professional insight on composition, editing, and storytelling.
In addition to the workshops, guests can explore exclusive vendor booths from brands like Sony, Nikon, Canon, Fujifilm, Tamron, Sigma, Westcott, and Nanlite, where they’ll find special show-only pricing on the newest cameras, lenses, tripods, and accessories.
The show also includes unique experiences like:
-
High-speed sync lighting sessions

Light painting workshops with Susan Magnano

Social media strategy sessions with Fabiola Lara
