First Friday Park After Dark
Sept. 5 | 9 pm | Race St. Pier
Feeling a little artsy? Well then this event is for you. The wildly popular First Friday will be extended to the Race St. Pier. Here you will performances from artists that are participating in this year’s Philly Fringe Festival. A great opportunity to step out the norm and enjoy something a little bit different. Take advantage of the warm weather while it’s still around and enjoy talented artists from around the world.
Philly Fringe Festival
Sept. 6- Oct. 30th | FringeArts Building
The Fringe Festival finally has a home. Check out the new awesome Fringe building FringeArts (140 N. Columbus Blvd.) and enjoy performances and art of the most talented people from around the world. From live performances to paintings and interpretive art can be found here. While you’re here be sure to check out the new restaurant La Peg has been on every food critic’s list of one of the most anticipated restaurants to open this year. Great arts, great food, great times, what more can you ask for?
4th Annual Brew Blast on the Battleship
Sept. 6th |1-5 pm | Battleship New Jersey
Love craft beer and battleships? Hey who doesn’t. Check out the 4th Annual Brew Blast on the battleship New Jersey and sample over 50 craft beers while enjoying great music and food. This is a ticketed event so check out our events page for pricing and ticket information. Philly is a beer town and if you’re serious about your beer, this is an event you don’t want to miss.
Restaurant Week
Sept. 7th-12th & 14th-19th | Center City
Attention foodies, Restaurant Week is upon us. This year enjoy 2 weeks of the best food specials you’ll see all year. Well over 100 participating restaurants have rolled three course $20 lunch specials and three course $35 dinner specials. So if there’s a restaurant you’ve been itching to check out now’s your chance to try it out with very budget friendly prices.
Science After Hours Presents: Great Inventions: Telephones, Trains, & the Root Beer Float
Sept. 9th | 6:30-9 pm | Franklin Institute
In it’s 2nd month in for this year Science After Hours has garnered a cult like following. With new themes, food, and entertainment switching-up every month these events are not only fun but also educational. Enjoy the Franklin Museum in an adult-only setting complete with cocktails. Enjoy history as narrators discuss history and field questions while adults become kids again with hands-on work shops. This event is a sure fire fun event great for a date or a night out with friends.
Varekai from Cirque Du Soliel
Sept. 10th-14th | The Wells Fargo Center
Cique Du Soliel is a brand of entertainment all its own. When you hear the name you know it’s going to be a great show. With an almost infinite number of themes, this upcoming show will showcase a majestic forest with amazing visuals. So if you love stunning visuals. acrobatics, and music this is a show you have to check out. A great time with friends, family, or significant other, it just doesn’t get better than Cirque Du Soliel. This show should be on everyone’s to-do-list this month.
Mt. Airy’s Street Fare: Sip, Savor, Stroll
Sept. 18th | 6-10:30 pm | Mt. Airy (Germantown Avenue, between Sedgwick and W. Mt. Airy Avenue)
Street Festivals are coming to an end as the weather starts to get chilly. However, just before we say goodbye to the warm weather be sure to check out Mt. Airy’s Street Fare. This year over 50 food trucks and restaurants have already signed up, plus live music, family fun, vendors and more. Sip and savor gourmet eats and drinks from 50+ of the region’s best gourmet food trucks and local restaurants. Essentially this is the place to be if you love food and a festival atmosphere. A great opportunity to bring out the family or enjoy it with friends. Either way it is sure to be an awesome time.
KRS-One Ft. MC Shan, Das EFX, J-Fletch

Old school will be rocking the crowd as one of the greatest rappers to ever touch the mic, Krs-One comes to the Trocadero. Enjoy music from raps pioneering era as Krs brings with him MC Shan, Das, EFX, and J-Fleth. So dust off your Kangol hats and make your way to an incredible concert that is sure to take you back to rap’s roots.
Brazilian Day
Sept. 21st. | 1-7 pm | Penn’s Landing
Get some culture from one of the most beautiful countries on the planet. Enjoy Brazilian food, music, and entertainment at Penn’s Landing. This is the last cultural festival to be hosted by Penn’s Landing this year and it’s one you won’t want to miss.
Fashion Under the Shambles
Sept. 23rd | 6 pm | S. 2nd St. between Pine & Lombard
September is a fashion month. With the Fashion Week happening in NYC, Philly will be hosting its on events revolving around fashion. On Sept. 23rd head down to Headhouse Square Shambles as Next Top Model Finalist Cory Wade Hindroff will be MC’ing this night of fashion. Enjoy runway performances as local boutiques and vendors will be showcasing some of the best fashion Philly has to offer. This is a fun, unique, and cool event that is excellent for a date night or to hang out with friends.
