Who’s not afraid of creepy crawlers? Well, for those that aren’t squeamish when it comes to bugs the Academy of Natural Sciences will be hosting their annual Bug Fest August 10th & 11th from 10 am to 5 pm.

This is your chance to discover and get up close and personal with rare species as well as join scientists on their guided Bug Walks on the Parkway. For added excitement you can cheer on roaches during their famous Roach Races.

In addition guests will get to explore specimens from the Academy’s world-class Entomology Collection, including recently discovered beetles, bees and butterflies. “Ask the Experts” at scientist meet-and-greets for all ages. Talk with Academy researchers and fellow bug enthusiasts to find out how their passion for all things invertebrate impacts and shapes our communities. Need cooking inso? Then be sure to check out  the live cooking show featuring bug-inspired recipes.

You’ll even have a chance to do a little shopping as Now+Then Marketplace will be on location with featuring local artists and artisans.  For those looking for regular food check out Pitruco Pizza on Saturday and Lula’s Empanadas on Sunday.

Tickets to Bug Fest are available at ansp.org.
