Love Music? The BYOB Trolley, Founding Footsteps is Launching a New Philly Music History Tour
Every year folks from around the world flock to Philly for its rich history. However, aside from our founding father’s history, Philly is rich with music history and played a key roll in the musical landscape across many genres.
Now your favorite BYOB trolley, Founding Footsteps will launch its Philly Music Madness History Tour. This trolley tour is a must-do for anyone interested in diving into rich musical heritage of Philadelphia. This new musical experience even comes complete with live music featuring popular songs from Philly’s past and present.
Step back in time as our knowledgeable guides take you on a journey through Philadelphia’s vibrant music scene, from the soulful Sound of Philadelphia and Philadelphia International Records to the iconic voices of Nina Simone and Marian Anderson. Along the way, you’ll visit some of the city’s most important musical landmarks and venues, including the legendary Avenue of the Arts, where many of the classic R&B and soul hits of the 1970s were recorded.
You’ll drive past the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz and Performing Arts, the oldest continuously operating African-American music organization in the United States. You’ll learn about the important role that African-American musicians have played in shaping Philadelphia’s musical heritage.
And of course, no music tour of Philadelphia would be complete without a stop at the Philadelphia Music Walk of Fame. You can pay tribute and snap a selfie at the star of some of the most influential musicians and music industry professionals associated with Philadelphia; from Patti LaBelle to Will Smith, The Roots, Nina Simone, to Jerry Blavat, and the world renowned record setting duo of Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff.
Founding Footsteps has partnered with local acts to pay it forward. Featured Philly recording artists, like Chill Moody and Reef Da Lost Cauze, and nationally headlining local comedian Chip Chantry, created content exclusively for this tour. Each will receive a share of each ticket sold.
The tour also includes local musician KOSER who has performed at venues across the country. You’ll be able to groove to the sounds of Philly Soul, sing along to legendary covers of the city’s favorites, and experience the diverse range of music that has originated in and shaped the city of Brotherly Love.
Tours run Thursdays through Sunday from June 15th until July 13th. Tickets can be purchased at foundingfootsteps.com. Use promo code WOODERICE and receive 10% off. Enjoy!
