Northern Liberties Announces Free Outdoor Fitness and Wellness Festival on N. 2nd Street
“In these stressful times, taking care of your mind and body is more important than ever,” said NLBID Executive Director Kristine Kennedy. “We are excited to showcase all the amazing health and wellness options that Northern Liberties has to offer! This new spacious and outdoor fitness festival is free and open to everyone. Northern Liberties is fortunate to have a ton of wonderful health and wellness-based businesses, covering everything from fitness to skin care to pediatric dental services and urgent care. We want to showcase and introduce these businesses to our local neighbors, as well as visitors from across the city.”
All are welcome to attend this free event on the 700 block of N 2nd St in Northern Liberties (between Fairmoint and Brown). The growing schedule of events and demos as part of this first-time festival are as follows:
Center yourself in the middle of the day and start your afternoon off right with some restorative and relaxing yoga. All skill levels welcome and BYO Mat.

Channel your inner Rocky Balboa and get your heart pumping with this jam-packed mini-cardio session featuring the fundamentals of boxing.
2:00pm:
Cooling down after an intense workout is sometimes just as (if not more!) important as said workout! Learn how to optimize your post-workout recovery through different breathing and movement techniques.

While most of us reach for the supplement bottle, we often forget we can attain these important nutrients from our food choices, too! Jessica DeLuise, PA-C of AFC Urgent Care will review some common supplement choices people are making for immunity and share the corresponding food sources and ideas for using them.

Orange Theory will offer two free classes to new sign ups, plus they will give away water bottles and light snacks and refreshments. Orangetheory is a heart-rate based HIIT total-body group workout that combines science, coaching and technology to guarantee maximum results from the inside out. They are located in the Piazza at 1050 N. Hancock, suite #58.
Meet and greet the instructors at Tuck Barre and Yoga (1100 N. Front Street) while picking up a free goody bag. They will also host a free 45 minute barre class (bring your own mat) at (fill in time frame).
Health and wellness means great oral hygiene too! Brand new to Northern Liberties, The Children’s Tooth Spa will be handing out toothbrushes, floss, and toothpaste in a bag with a balloon for the kid. Practice owner Dr. Jenny and her colleague Dr. Wu will be speaking on the benefits of fluoride and sealants, and talk about how they can be combined to prevent 80% of cavities.
The neighborhood’s health heroes at AFC Urgent Care will host a booth where festival goers can discover how affordable and convenient great health care can be – right in our neighborhood! Their team will share the most current update on COVID-19 testing, vaccines and best practices, plus they will have great recyclable shopping bags to give out. They will offer a demo on eating healthy and share heart disease prevention tips. American Family Care Urgent Care is conveniently located at 180 W Girard in Northern Liberties next to the Fine Wine & Good Spirits Store. Konect, a state-of-the-art health, wellness, and recovery studio, will be on hand to introduce themselves to Northern Liberties as a new business. They offer Chiropractic, Cryotherapy, Infrared Sauna, and IV Therapy services designed around an individual’s needs to help people feel better, move better, and live better.
