New City Mask Mandates Will Require Masks in Businesses Unless You Have Proof of Vaccination!
Restrictions are back. Philadelphia officials have recently announced new mask mandates for businesses in Philadelphia. Mayor Kenney announced that the new mask mandate will require masks to be worn while in businesses and institutions unless the establishment has a proof of vaccine requirement in place.
In addition to the new indoor mask mandate, the city is now requiring unseated events of 1,000 or more to require masks to be worn. Mayor Kenney also stated that all city employees will be required to be vaccinated by September 1st. Any employee who fails to be vaccinated by the deadline will be required to wear a double mask while indoors around others.
Lastly, if any residents or visitors plan on entering city buildings they will be required to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status.
According to 3 CBS Philly The Philadelphia Fire Fighters and Paramedics Union will not comply with a COVID-19 vaccine mandate. President Michael Bresnan says the union expects the City of Philadelphia to bargain about any mandates “now and in the future.”
“We will not tolerate any of our members being disciplined in any manner for not being vaccinated,” Bresnan wrote on the union’s Facebook page.
We are not going to sit there and tolerate anyone jamming anything down our throats,” he tells Eyewitness News, adding, “There’s medical concerns, there’s religion concerns, we haven’t vetted that yet. So, at the minimum, we want to sit down with the city see what they have to offer. ”
