Save Philly Restaurants Is Hosting Vaccine Clinics for Nearly 900 Restaurant Workers Next Week
Save Philly Restaurants and Centennial Pharmacy are hosting vaccine clinics for nearly 900 restaurant workers starting next week.
Widespread vaccinations of restaurant workers is one of the most important keys to getting restaurants fully opened and making sure staff and guests feel and stay safe, and has been the highest priority for Save Philly Restaurants since the vaccines were approved. Yet, it has been challenging for most industry workers to find or make appointments for vaccinations.
Save Philly Restaurants, an ad hoc coalition of owners of about 300 restaurants in the city, has worked tirelessly to secure appointments for restaurant workers (Phase 1B). The efforts to vaccinate them quickly officially begins next Monday with a dedicated clinic for the industry.
The first clinic day for hundreds of workers is Monday, March 15 at Centennial Pharmacy, 1020 N Delaware Ave. in Philadelphia. Additional days are being added quickly as needed for those who have registered through the Save Philly Restaurants portal.
“We hope that this clinic, and others to follow soon after, will make it much easier for our front and back of the house staff to get vaccinated more quickly and easily. Despite the fact that we are eligible for vaccinations, most of us have found that getting appointments is still very time-consuming and stressful, and we find that many of our workers are still confused and or hesitant. Our goal is to continue to find ways to get the majority of our teams vaccinated in March and April,” according to Nicole Marquis, founder of Save Philly Restaurants and CEO and Founder of 7 restaurants in the city.
“Centennial Pharmacy Services is excited to be providing vaccines to Philadelphia’s restaurant community. These organizations are staples to all of us who live, work, and play in Philly. It’s an honor to be providing their teams protection from COVID-19, and to guarantee Philadelphians that their favorite spots are safe,” according to Lindsay Dymowski, President and Owner of Centennial Pharmacy Services.
