The Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest Is Back With Private Cabin Rentals and Ferris Wheel
It looks like the the Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest will still be a go despite the city lockdown for many gatherings and restaurant restrictions. Winterfest which was suppose to kick-off November 30th has been pushed back a day due to the weather. This year’s festivities will have several restrictions and COVID-19 guidelines for attendees.
The new guidelines include:
-
All guests and Rink staff are required to wear masks
-
Limiting site capacity to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all. There is a separate capacity for the rink then for Winterfest so all guests feel comfortable.
-
Staggering ice skating ticket times and encouraging advance purchases to mitigate crowding and ensure a seamless ticketing and skate rental experience.
-
Conducting thorough, deep cleanings of all public spaces including public restrooms, seating areas, and ice skates with cleaners that destroy viruses and regularly sanitizing all public spaces sneeze guards and partitions at all points of contact between visitors and vendors.
-
Providing handwashing stations and hand sanitizers at various locations throughout Winterfest.
-
Ensuring all staff onsite wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
-
Continuously evaluating best practices and recommendations from experts.
As for this year’s entertainment, obviously ice skating will be the main attraction but capacity will be limited. Admission will be $5 while ice skate rentals will be $10. New this year is the Ferris well which has remained from this past Summerfest. Ferris wheel rides will be $4 while many of the boardwalk games such as balloon water race and basketball toss will be $5 each.
