Zahav Adds Lunch Just for Philly’s Upcoming Restaurant Week
Enjoy the glow of Jerusalem stone in the sunlight when Zahav (237 St. James Place) adds lunch service just for Center City District Restaurant Week, 11 am – 1:30 pm from Sunday, January 18 through Friday, January 23 and Sunday, January 25 through Friday, January 30 (No Saturday lunch).
“This is our 12th-consecutive Center City District Restaurant Week,” says Zahav co-owner Steve Cook.
“It’s always been a great way to get new guests in, especially during our first year when we were struggling. January is a slow month for most restaurants, but we are now so busy for dinner during Restaurant Week, it seemed natural to add lunch this time around.”
Classic Israeli hummus tehina, laffa bread and an array of vegetable salatim (including Moroccan carrots, twice-cooked eggplant, beets with tehina) begin both the lunch and dinner menus. In addition to hummus and salatim, Restaurant Week lunch includes one meze (crispy haloumi with date and walnut; house smoked sable; roasted Brussels sprouts with Bulgarian feta), one skewer grilled over coals (kofte of beef and lamb; harissa spiced eggplant; branzino with celery root) and one dessert (coffee custard with cardamom meringue; chestnut konafi) for $20 per person.
Restaurant Week dinner is simply our Tayim (Taste of Zahav) of hummus tehina and laffa, salatim, two meze, one skewer and one dessert for $35 per person. Reservations are always recommended, and can be had at zahavrestaurant.com or by calling the restaurant at 215-625-8800.
