Titanoboa The World’s Largest Snake Will be on Display in Philly
If you are a lover of reptiles especially snakes then you will be happy to know that the Academy of Natural Sciences will be displaying the largest snake to ever slither on earth. Titanoboa: Monster Snake is a traveling Smithsonian exhibit which features a life-size replica of the 48 ft. long, 2,500 pound reptile, Titanoboa cerrejonensis.
Aside from the replica the exhibit will also feature the back story on how Titanoboa was discovered in 2009 in a remote are of Colombia. In addition visitors will also learn what life was like for the monstrous snake when it slithered around earth some 60 million years ago. The exhibit will kick-off February 14th and will run until April 19th at the Academy of Natural Sciences at Drexel University. Check out the video below for a cool animated recreation of Titanoboa.
