5 Blocks Along E. Passyunk Will Be Shut Down For Outdoor Dining!

Remember the good ol’ days of street festivals?  Well, East Passyunk wants to bring back those same vibes but in a more social distancing sort of way.  From Friday July 10th to Sunday July 12th, E. Passyunk will shut down five blocks at 5 pm each day to expand outdoor dining and allow visitors to enjoy the great food selection in a street festival type atmosphere.  The East Passyunk Business Improvement District is dubbing the event “Open on the Ave.”

The shut down will happen from the intersection at Broad Street down to Dickinson. Over 20 restaurants along E. Passyunk will be participating in the open-air dining with a mix of walks-ups and reservations. It is worth noting that reservations are strongly encouraged.

Participating restaurants include Essen, Flannel, Fond, ITV Philly, Isabella Pizza, Barcelona Wine Bar, Big Catch Poke, Bing Bing Dim Sum, Black & Brew, Laurel, Le Virtù, Manatawny Still Works, Marra’s,River Twice, Stateside, Stogie Joe’s Tavern, Teas n’ Mi, Noir Philadelphia, NOORD eetcafe, Bottle Shop, Palace of Indian, Perla, Philly Bagels, Pistolas Del Sur, Pub on East Passyunk (POPE) and P’unk Burger,

Open on the Ave is an attempt to help local restaurants as they cope with city-wide regulations banning indoor-dining.  However with outdoor dining possible these establishments will have the ability to provide more seating.  Guests are required to wear masks when not dining and practice social distancing.

Other neighborhoods including Old City are looking to organize a similar event so stay tuned for more updates!
