For $20 You Can Get a White Truffle Cheesesteak from Pat’s
Unless you’re a true foodie or in the culinary business, you may not be aware of the cost associated with truffles. Â Usually reserved for high-end restaurants and professional chefs due to their cost, not many folks get to experience the delicacy. Â Well it looks like Philly’s own Pat’s King of Steaks is changing the game. Â Well for one day at least. On Thursday November 17th, Pat’s will be serving up Alba White Truffle Cheesesteaks.
Last weekend Pat’s owner, Frank Olivieri attended a fundraiser for the National Italian American Foundation at the prestigious Union League. Â Before the night was over Mr. Olivieri walked away with rare white truffle for a cool $2,500. Â Instead of saving it all to himself he decided to give the public an opportunity to get a taste.
Starting at 12:30 pm folks can swing by Pat’s Steaks for and order the truffle cheesesteak for $20. Â It may seem like a hefty price tag but when you think about it, you are paying close to that whenever you buy a streak at an Eagle’s or Flyers game. At least here you can say you had a sophisticated steak. Â Make sure to eat it with one pinky finger up!
