For $20 You Can Get a White Truffle Cheesesteak from Pat’s
Unless you’re a true foodie or in the culinary business, you may not be aware of the cost associated with truffles. Usually reserved for high-end restaurants and professional chefs due to their cost, not many folks get to experience the delicacy. Well it looks like Philly’s own Pat’s King of Steaks is changing the game. Well for one day at least. On Thursday November 17th, Pat’s will be serving up Alba White Truffle Cheesesteaks.
Last weekend Pat’s owner, Frank Olivieri attended a fundraiser for the National Italian American Foundation at the prestigious Union League. Before the night was over Mr. Olivieri walked away with rare white truffle for a cool $2,500. Instead of saving it all to himself he decided to give the public an opportunity to get a taste.
Starting at 12:30 pm folks can swing by Pat’s Steaks for and order the truffle cheesesteak for $20. It may seem like a hefty price tag but when you think about it, you are paying close to that whenever you buy a streak at an Eagle’s or Flyers game. At least here you can say you had a sophisticated steak. Make sure to eat it with one pinky finger up!
